The Great Haboob of 2011

We were out at dinner one night before my Mom was getting ready to go back to Georgia. The sky got so dark to the south. We thought it was just a monsoon coming through and that it was rain. Boy were we surprised! We had to stop in the middle of the sand storm or "haboob" because we could not see anything.

Forgive the screaming 8 month old baby in the background. He was not happy. You can tell that we have all become accustomed to his screaming as none of us pay any attention to it on the video.

The van I had just washed did not make it through the sand clean.
