San Diego
So, from July 23-26, we went to San Diego while Michael did an event on Miramar. It was a fun little trip. I love the weather there. It never got above 80 degrees. How awesome is that!! We never broke a sweat which was like Heaven since we live in the armpit of Arizona now. We went from 111` to 71`. It was great. We actually met up with one of Michael's Major's from NAS Atlanta, Major Clay, and his family for dinner at the O Club on base. During the course of our two hours together, Caleb their son had managed to flip his chair, but our kids took the cake literally. Merrick started coughing so much that he puked all over the floor. I didn't know his little tummy could hold so much corn on the cob. Then, on the way back with desert for the three of us, Madelyn managed to drop her mouse cake on the floor. It was to the point that we left a big tip for the staff and I am sure they never want to see us again. Anyway, we went to La Jolla Cove which is one of Michael's favorite places in CA. We also went to the MCRD (Marine Corps Recruit Depot) where Michael went to Boot camp and my Grandpa Skogley also did his boot camp during WWII. It was pretty cool to have so much connection there and know that my Grandpa had been in that exact spot so many years ago. Madelyn has discovered a love for the Skogley's since our trip to GA to get our stuff. Sadly, Grandpa Skogley passed away in December 2003 and Madelyn was born in May 2004, so she never met him here. I am sure that he would have adored her as he loved all children so much. Here are some pics from the trip.
