staycation

Madelyn got 2 weeks off from school and by some miracle Michael was in town most of the time. We wanted to do something, but who can afford a big vacation without planning it. So, we went to Mesa and stayed in a hotel (its great to be a rewards member with Holiday Inn). Anyway, the kids swam for hours the first night. Then, sadly we discovered that the only Longhorn Steakhouse west of the Mississippi closed. Boo :(. So we had a nice dinner at Olive Garden. Then the kids crashed and woke bright and early for another hour or two of swimming. Madelyn is doing so well with swimming. I can see a big step back with Miley and Merrick with swimming. They definitely need lessons to get more comfortable. It's weird that its mid-October and we are still able to comfortably swim outdoors since it is over 100 degrees again this week. So, we didn't go far from home, but we had a great little vacation.

sisters! (do you see the Madelyn hand on Miley's ear? maybe someday she will get over her ear fetish)
The pool with a waterfall in the middle section - the water was yucky (it was salt water or something gross. Give me chlorine anyday.)
The hot tub. I miss my hot tub in our old house.
