Our first swim meet

Madelyn and Merrick joined swim team this year. Miss Erin's classes filled up fast and little Michael is the only one that I could get in with her this year. They started going to the Starlight pool for an hour each day Monday through Thursday and had swim meets on Thursday evenings. Merrick has been very unsure of himself. His problem is that he underestimates his abilities and he lets himself think he can't do it. He stops a lot in the pool because he doesn't think he can swim the whole way. He'll get better. Madelyn is progressing really well. She's a great swimmer and getting better. Her main thing is that she isn't fast. I hope swim team will push them to better develop their swimming skills.

Our first swim meet was this afternoon. It was so hot. We were dying by the end of it. Sitting out in the 110+ degree weather for 2 1/2 hours gets old real fast. They did great.
