HALLOWEEN
Saturday was Halloween and our ward Halloween party. The Young Women had to do a booth. Our booth was a cake walk with balloons as prizes instead of cake. We decorated the room and it was pretty hectic in there. I hope that they don't do Trunk or Treat on Halloween again. Our party was from 4-6 and it was very rushed and crazy the whole time. Then, it was hard to get anywhere else to do actual trick-or-treating (like we went to Tedd and Emily's house 40 minutes away). Anyway, Miley won the Halloween costume contest for 18months - 4 year olds. She was so excited to get her gum ball machine and nerds. The other kids got plastic gloves filled with popcorn. Michael had signed up for clean up committee and didn't think that we would already be in a hurry to get to Gilbert without cleaning up. So, he missed 3/4 of the party and cleaned up the whole time. He, Bro. Deleon, the Missionaries, and the Stake President did a great job and got it almost all done by 6pm. Miley was Snow White, Madelyn was Minnie Mouse, and Merrick was Buzz Lightyear (again).
The High Priests had a donut eating booth where you could not use your hands to eat the donut. Madelyn must have a big mouth because she got the whole donut in her mouth in about 2 seconds. She did have a hard time chewing it up and whistling at the end. The other kids didn't want anything to do with this booth.
One of my YW made this giant spider - it was really creative.
My contribution to the room was cutting out these bats, moons, ravens, and bringing some cob webs.
Here are all of the balloon waiting to be made into balloon items. The YW pres - Amber, made the monster faces. She's so creative!
Next we went to Gilbert to actually trick-or-treat. The weather was sooooo amazing. Last year it was so hot that Merrick had thick sweat covering him under his costume (it was like wearing a rubber suit). This year I wore a light jacket and the kids were comfortable in their costumes. It was great. The neighborhood had a ton of houses that participated in Halloween. It was great.
