Eagle Christmas Program

On December 17th, Madelyn had her school holiday program. The kindergarten did the Hanukah song - so they were asked to wear blue and their holiday best. They were also asked to wear blue scarves so that they all looked alike. Madelyn wore her blue and black holiday dress from last year. The performance was crazy. It was held at a church that the Dad of one of the girl's in Madelyn's class owns. It was standing room only (we had to sit in the back on little kid chairs) and the background music was so loud that you could barely hear the kids. At one point a parent came up and asked the sound guy behind us to turn it down - they didn't. Then some fool parked in the middle of the exit lane and the whole parking lot was blocked for about 20-30 minutes after the performance. People were talking about tipping the car over so they could get around. In the end I was reminded of the Alvin and the Chipmunk movie "Alvin and the Chipmunks meet the Wolf man". The director of the school play acts like he is directing a Broadway show instead of an elementary school production. That was what this felt like. They gave him roses and said how wonderful the performance was. I think our ward Children's performance this year was a better performance. The kids all did great - but, I was glad when it was over.

These kids (Merrick and Miley) were so angry after spending 2 hours at this event.

Luckily they got to go pick a candy at the store after this as I did not let them stand in line for a cookie. Little did I know that we could have gotten a cookie faster than we got out of that parking lot.
